Sunday 20th December

More than enough snow over the past 3 days have made conditions EPIC here in Hakuba! Plenty of powder to be found out there right on the man runs, one does not have to look far. Make sure you have your powder boards on and are ready to dig yourself out a few times. Many skies and boarders found that the bottomless powder was too deep, or actually the terrain was not steep enough.

Even this weekend the masses have not really made their way to the resorts, so lift lines are virtually non-existent and there is face shots for everyone….does it get any better

With all the new snow, the resorts will be pretty much be fully opened. Groomers have been out there all night smoothing down the pow to make runs and the base should be also great for on-piste carving.

Observed snow over the past 24hrs: 35cms (at Happo Base)

Forecasted weather is for more snow throughout the day with the most snow falling this evening. Cold temperatures continue as well to keep the pow light and dry.

Currently open: Sun Alpina, Sanosaka (pair lift only), Goryu, Hakuba 47, Happo-One, Iwatake (only Gondola and 3 chair), Tsugaike, Cortina (3 lifts open & limited runs)

Weather conditions: Snowing lightly
New snowfall: 30-40 cm (village)
Snow depth: 115 cm (Goryu base) 160 cm (Goryu top)
