A sick day yesterday and another today…cold temperatures, blue skies and amazing views of the peaks with the skifields in fantastic condition after the last snowfall. Runs will be well-groomed, powder will still be fresh in the shade and otsukare beers will be well-deserved and delicious.
Possible snow flurries beginning overnight in the early hours.
***Updated 10:00 AM:
The winds up high are increasing and have changed direction. Presently the tops of the resorts are receiving strong winds from the west and south west. This wind may cause lift closures up top during the day.
Backcountry Travel Advisory:
The strong winds from the South West will be depositing snow and loading the Northerly lee slopes. Be cautious of steep convexing loaded features just below ridges. Strong solar radiation may weaken the snow pack especially around rock outcroppings, trees and under cornices.
