We have been greeted with a warm morning today again and no new snowfall, but temperatures are on their way down as the day progresses. It is currently 2 C in the valley and we should see a low of -6 C. We are experiencing overcast skies with very limited visibility up top of the resorts with clearings projected for tomorrow and possibly glimpses of the sun.
The melt freeze cycle up on the hills will have created variable conditions as a crust will have formed over areas that were affected by yesterdays warmth. Up on the resorts it is forecast to range from 0 C to -5 C down low and up top a chilly -6 C to -10 C with a wind chill of -17 C. The freezing level will drop and should keep things below melting point through the weekend where we are expecting some new precipitation. Winds are light and breezy coming from the NW and W directions. The afternoon may see some clearing skies and this trend should continue through the night and into Thursday. Thursday night, clouds are projected to roll back in and precipitate until mid weekend where we will have some more clearing skies accompanied by colder conditions by Sunday. |
