| Hakuba awoke this morning to about 5 cms of very light dry powder. Quite possibly some classic dust on crust skiing to be had out there today, but one can expect more snow at higher elevations and where wind transport has blown it in. The weather presently is partly cloudy skies with some big blue patches poking through. Hopefully the sun will burn through and we can get some nice weekend sunshine and mountain views.
Conditions on the resorts in Hakuba today will be powder, chopped powder and crud and some very fast icy groomers. Still pretty hard under foot so be careful hitting the bumps or catching air, icy hardpack is like concrete in some places. The forecast is calling for light snow today and sunshine for Sunday. We would be happy to see some sun as it has been pretty cold and cloudy recently. Enjoy the weekend slopes and nice conditions on the resorts today. |
