Jan 2 2011

Weather conditions: Overcast
New snowfall: 3-4 cm (valley)
Snow depth: Hakuba Goryu Top : 210cm
Hakuba is overcast and cloudy today, but good visibility and even some fresh snow to play in. We received about 3-4 cms in the valley overnight and the snow is dry and light.

Cold temperatures late afternoon yesterday and snow into the night made for ideal skiing conditions out on the resorts.

Expect some freshies on the main ungroomed runs, chopped powder and crud on the sides and nice groomers on the beginner and intermediate runs. There are still quite a few skiers and boarders out there so be wary of lines in the AM and after lunch on certain lower gondolas.

We are expecting some nice weather Monday and Tuesday (no snow in pipes yet) but it will be nice to see the peaks around Hakuba again. WIth any luck we can get some more snow this coming week to top up the already good base on the resorts.
