New snowfall: 5cm (Goryu top); 5cm (Goryu bottom)
Snow depth: Hakuba Goryu Top : 325cm [official]
Apparently there were huge winds closing down the runs of Happo yesterday – spent the day at Cortina with blue skies, sunshine, no wind and mad powder. The last two days have been off the richter scale for powder lovers and snow conditions in Otari/Hakuba have been unreal with incredibly deep snow of fantastic quality.

Blah powder blah back to today no snow overnight, winds still hitting pretty heavily from the West/WNW and some lift operations on exposed (higher) slopes are affected. Not too cold out there today, -5 on Happo’s Usagidaira and 3 degrees at the Ski Jump. The sun is shining in Wadano with big patches of blue but the top of Happo is obscured from down here.

A mixed bag on the way weatherwise, lots of snowmen on the radar but how much will fall is anyones guess at this point. Play safe out there and have fun!
