Weather conditions: partially cloudy
New snowfall: 20 cm (Goryu top); 5cm (Goryu lower)
Snow depth: Hakuba Goryu Top : 335cm [official]
Another huge dump in last 24 hours in Hakuba!

Snow kept falling with pretty much no break yesterday afternoon especially around 1 to 3 in the afternoon. There was an snow alert warning for northern Japan all day yesterday, and snow accumulation has now been over 50cm in 24 hours at some northern part of Japan. We didn’t do too badly ourselves of course.

The current local forecast says we will be getting some wetter snow on and off all day today and might get another large snow fall in the afternoon once again. Which is good news.

It’s currently partially overcast around Hakuba and you can almost get to see peaks of the surrounding mountains. Visibility is generally okay and there is only a calm wind.

Currently it is -3c here at base with a low today forecast of -5C. It makes a change from those minus double figures we had been clocking.
