Hakuba Snow Report December 22

Hakuba currently sits under cloudy skies with the cloud ceiling at about the 2500m mark, so the visibility should be fine for skiers and boarders today. No new snow to report overnight but still great conditions on groomed and packed powder runs. A mild warming trend today with minimum temperature at around 0 degrees celcius. Lower slopes powder will be heavy and wet today.

Happo One, Goryu and Hakuba 47 are open to the bottom today and Happo is scheduled to open their Saka lifts today. Tsugaike is running around 80% of lifts.

This weekend will definitely be a white Christmas in Hakuba. So get up to the slopes and enjoy the festivities happening around town.

Backcountry Travel Advisory:

The advisory stays the same as previous:

Huge amounts of snow over the last week and high winds some days will mean heavily loaded lee slopes and huge unstable cornices. Snow falling all day makes this another day to enjoy the powder on the slopes. Exercise extreme caution if planning on heading out backcountry today.
