Good morning from Hakuba – I woke up to a nice view of most of the valley which is quite a change from the past few days. At the moment it is partly cloudy, though it should be clearing up by noon and then clouding over again in the evening and overnight.
It’s going to be another mild one today with temperatures likely to rise to around 5C today and going down to -2C tonight. And then back up to around 8 degrees tomorrow with a sunny day forecast. Beyond that perhaps some light snow later Friday but late weekend into Monday is looking the most promising at the moment with decent snowfall forecast for Monday. Looks like it will get back to being cold as well, which will also be a welcome return. The snow today is granulated hard packed at the top of the mountain and should stay that way all day. As for the lower mountain areas, the snow at the moment is nicely groomed terrain and should change to slush by the end of the day. |
