This morning we are greeted with great clear skies and lots of sunshine. That will change throughout the day as we experience very mild weather for a short period. Yesterday we saw sunny patches and great visibility to go along with the nice snow conditions. In the valley, today we are expecting warm spring like conditions with temperatures rising to balmy 7 C. The sun will be around until mid day when clouds are due to roll in and drop some precipitation which will come down as rain. This is projected to continue until tomorrow morning as will the mild temperatures. Here’s hoping to that being cut short.
Up on the hills, no new snow has been recorded and temperatures ranging from 1 C to 4 C are expected with freezing levels rising to 2050m overnight. A light breeze is expected to accompany the new system approaching with speeds of 2m/s from a S and SSW direction. Tuesday afternoon is when it is supposed to start getting cooler and snow is in the forecast coinciding with the lowering freezing level. Mid week through to Friday we are expecting snowfall accumulation with higher winds later in the week. Avalanche conditions above tree line are CONSIDERABLE while below tree line they are MODERATE. Please ski and ride with care. |
