Hakuba Snow Report – 28th Dec 2011

Weather conditions: Partly cloudy with sun trying to break through
New snowfall: 0 cm (village)
Snow depth: 85cm (Village ); 180 cm (Top of Goryu)
The sun is starting to poke through the clouds this morning and it looks like it is trying to become a blue bird day today in Hakuba. There was no new snow overnight but with yesterdays high winds the upper slopes are going to be filled in quite nicely with wind deposited snow. No one was able to ski the upper parts of Happo yesterday so there will be some freshies for sure for the first folks to get out there.Conditions on the hill today are packed powder, groomed and some fresh powder if you get up there early and can find some secret spots. There are also some sweet moguls forming if that is your style as well. Presently the resorts are open top to bottom and there is some great skiing all over the mountain. We had some really strong winds yesterday so a lot of the lifts were closed, hopefully the wind will subside today.

We are looking forward to some snow on Thursday night and some more sunny days for the New Year weekend. So get your sliding apparatus and get our there, it is going to be a good one.
