This morning we are experiencing overcast skies and we are already seeing the start of the snowfall for the day. This is a mini weather front that will ease up for tomorrow but bring in constant precipitation mid week onwards. Still looking good for Wednesday onwards. The valley temperature in the morning is -1 C and is expected to finally stay below freezing throughout the day, finishing off this spring-like weather we have been experiencing. Trace amounts of new snow have been recorded. The resorts are projecting to range from -3 C to -7 C with a wind chill factor making it feel like -13 C. Light winds from NNW are bringing in the cooler temperatures and are followed by the weather system that should bring us more fresh snow. 2-5 cm of new snow have been recorded in the resorts with this change in weather patterns. Today will continue to bring now and tomorrow will be drier with some sunny patches while maintaining a low freezing level. The weather system bringing new snow should hit us Tuesday night and continue throughout the week. Happy Chinese New Year and welcome to the year of the Dragon. |
