Hakuba Snow Report – 12th Feb 2012

Weather conditions: Some cloud, blue skies
New snowfall: 15cm village
Snow depth: 155cm (Village); 340cm (Top of Goryu)
More snow to report today from Hakuba. It was snowing earlier on this morning and another 10-15cm or so on lower slopes and more up top (see individual resort reports below), but since then it has cleared up somewhat and now around lunchtime the is an increasing amount of blue sky up there and the sun is shining down as I write this. Some dramatic clouds remain over parts of the village and parts of the mountains, but it has turned into a lovely early afternoon.

Strong winds in places have spoilt the fun a bit today with the top parts of Happo closed and other lifts in other resort areas also liable to be stopped today.

We might see more of the sun over the next few days as well, along with cloud and milder conditions. Hopefully less wind. Tomorrow and Tuesday look like temperatures will rise again, especially on Tuesday, but we should be back to the cold from around Wednesday.
