Weather conditions: | Light-Moderate Snowfall |
New snowfall: | 40-60cm+ |
Snow depth: | Hakuba Goryu Top: 140cm |
Mad snow fell from yesterday afternoon, there was a short pause in the night but we woke up today to a snow covered town with 30cm accumulation on cars and probably 60cm in places. Fairly heavy snow in the village and as at 6am temperatures were around -3 at 1600m and 0 at 600m but a lot of wet snow is better than none, conditions at the top should be good and temperatures look set to drop more today.
Resorts will take a bit of hustling to get things in full swing but top to bottom runs are possible just watch underfoot as it will still be pretty shallow in places and you may get stuck somewhere with no lift operation so make sure you know where you’re going. Goryu is reporting 140cm base on top and 30cm at bottom so thin on lower runs but snow is still falling and by the end of this storm we should be set for some time to come. Forecast is for cooling temperatures and heavy snow overnight 🙂 |
