Hakuba Snow Report – 8th Mar 2011

Weather conditions: Cloud, fine
New snowfall: 5cm (upper); 2cm (lower) [Goryu official]
Snow depth: Hakuba Goryu Top : 275cm [official]
5cm being reported by Goryu and up to 10cm by Hakuba 47 early this morning and poor visibility early on up on the slopes but mid-morning clouds began to clear up somewhat and there has been some blue sky on show behind the cloud that is still up there during the day and the sun making an appearance at times as well and a high temperature of around +3 degrees this afternoon in the village.Temperatures set to drop to around -5 overnight tonight and a colder day lined up for tomorrow and snow likely, especially in the evening when we may see some moderate-heavy snow fall on the mountains and some down to the village as well. The snowy conditions should be with us right up until the end of Friday.

As the forecast stands at the moment clear and sunny conditions are likely for the weekend, so a few more days of snowfall will be just the ticket for a great weekend ahead.
