Hakuba Snow Report – 7th Mar 2011

Weather conditions: Cloud, light snow
New snowfall: 2cm (upper); 0cm (lower) [Goryu official]
Snow depth: Hakuba Goryu Top : 275cm [official]
Yesterday saw some fairly strong winds out there on the slopes and conditions were mild and all that brings with it. The morning seemed to be fairly crowded out there but as usual things started to thin out once we got into the afternoon.Snow started falling this morning and Hakuba 47 were reporting just over 10cm at 8am. There will be more since then on the slopes but not much – earlier this morning there was new snowfall down to village level but it has since disappeared for the most part. Pretty good conditions higher up then but very poor visibility on the mountains today but there’s not much of a wind… and not many people out there. Be careful not to get lost out there!

Wednesday is looking good for some decent snowfall in the region but in general it is looking like we should see snowy conditions from now until around Friday, clearing up in time for the weekend.
