Hakuba Snow Report – 5th Mar 2011

Weather conditions: Mostly sunny and blue skies
New snowfall: 2cm (upper); 0cm (lower) [Goryu official]
Snow depth: Hakuba Goryu Top : 280cm [official]
Blue skies and the sun making an appearance has warmed up the valley to around 4 degrees this morning but up at 1400m temperatures are still holding cold at around -6.Just a few cm of new snow being reported on the upper slopes of Goryu this morning.

The recent top-up has put a nice layer of snow on the resorts though there are still some patches iced-out from the rain earlier in the week to watch out for. All in all a good start to the weekend with great weather, excellent visibility, and not too busy at the time of writing.

Winds are still pretty strong up high but on the resort only light NNE nothing to worry too much about. Tomorrow looks like it should be clear with warmer temperatures than today. Some snow is forecast from Monday afternoon through the night and clear on Tuesday.
