After all of the dumping rain yesterday, it has changed the looks of the hills and some spots on the streets, and not in a good way!The current temperature at the base is 2C with the highest being 6C. At the 1400m level, -1.3C and a high of 2c.
The local weather forecast says its going to start raining again this afternoon but – good news! – it should change to snow by later today. After that we are likely to see snow falling each day up until Friday – how much remains to be seen but we are hopeful for a fairly decent amount. Let’s keep our finger crossed for a good new layer. Wind is very calm at the bottom and on the hill as well. 0.2m SE at the base and 0.6m N at the top. I guess this rain is just a good sign of dumping snow in the run up to next weekend. Be careful out there if you going out for back country. It might be really unstable everywhere with the recent temperature changes. Stay dry out there! |
