Bluebird skies in the Hakuba Valley today. Absolutely stunning start to the day and it looks like it should be a clear beautiful day all day.The clear skies meant cold temperatures overnight with a low of -13 in the valley. Winds didn’t break 10m/s and are light right now, 3m/s from the NW at 2080m and no wind at all at 1400m.
It’s starting to warm up today and is already 1.5 degrees in the sun at 1400m. That’s at just after 9am. Our valley temp is currently recording 0 but this should warm up a fair bit in today’s sun, so not sure how high it will go but the forecast says maybe around +6. The weather forecast for the next few days is fairly consistent across the different sites – clear today with precipitation tomorrow from the afternoon and with warming expected some of this could fall as rain which if falls will be the first real rain event of the season. Temperatures are expected to drop again overnight though so we may get some decent if not heavy snow in the mix. Some cloud/light snow the following days with Sunday and Monday looking to be clear. |
