Kids Ski & Snowboard Lessons on Hakuba's Happo-one
Evergreen is the premier English ski school for children's ski and snowboard lessons in Hakuba, where parents relax and kids smile. Not only can your child improve his/her skiing/snowboarding in a fun environment with international instructors and other children from all over the world, but you and your better half can make some turns for fun or explore the area.Our school is the ideal ski-in ski-out set-up with our office, meeting area, public toilets, rest area, day-care room, our own "Roots Cafe" serving delicious vegetarian food and drinks and a lift-ticket booth nearby.
Lesson Programs
Evergreen Outdoor Center offers group and private lessons as follows:
Our infants program is designed with young beginning skiers in mind and are ideal to get your infant on the slopes. Lessons are conducted on the "Magic Carpet" moving walkway.
The lesson time includes shuttle to and from the magic carpet area (approx 15 mins each way) and a short toilet/warm-up break halfway through the lesson - if you'd like your child to have a hot drink during the break, please leave some money with the instructor.
Ages: 3 - 5 years inclusive
Levels offered: Beginner, Novice
Max children per instructor: 4
*lift tickets are not required for infant lessons as children will be on the "magic carpet" moving walkway - no ticket required
*if children aren't able to participate in the entire lesson, we may move them to day care - decision rests with the instructor
Our group ski lesson program offers a smooth transition from total beginner through to advanced skier, and children can feel positive and proud of themselves as they see continual skill-development day-by-day. Children are placed into groups based on their level and instructors discuss their progress with ski school managers daily to ensure they are always placed in the group most suitable to their needs.
Additionally, kids in group ski lessons learn to ski while having fun and making friends with kids their age!

Evergreen's snowboard lessons put the focus on safety, skill-development and having fun on the slopes. Children can feel positive and proud of themselves as they see continual skill-development day-by-day. Additionally, kids in group snowboard lessons learn to ride while having fun and making friends with kids their age!

For one-on-one lessons or private groups of friends/family, we have instructors ready to give your child focused training specific to their needs to help them take it to the next level on skis or a snowboard.
Help them make the most out of their time on the ski-field whether they ski once a year or every day in Winter - whatever their level, our instructors will focus on what they need to improve their skill, confidence and style.

Location
All lessons begin and end at Evergreen Outdoor Center's Ski School (Happo Base) on the slopes of Happo-one. Click here to see Happo Base access details. If coming to our ski school by yourself, please arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to your lesson start-time. Alternatively, you may request our complimentary shuttle - details of this can be found here.
Includes
Qualified ski/snowboard instructor (English speaking), insurance, tax and all the fun they can handle!
Bring
Lift pass (see above), winter clothing, knit cap, gloves, goggles and smiles! Kids will also need to have their own ski/snowboard gear.

Evergreen's Instructors
Our guides are native-level English-speaking professionals who are talented at conducting lessons that are safe, controlled, and emphasize proper techniques while having a great time. All instructors hold instructing as well as first-aid certificates. We also have French, German and Spanish speaking instructors available on request.

Supervised Lunches
A supervised lunch session is available on request. Lunch is prepared in our vegetarian cafe and the kids eat in our warmed rest area under the supervision of Evergreen staff. The supervised lunch session lasts from 12:00 - 1:30 PM (the break between morning and afternoon) and the charge is 1,500 yen including lunch.

For lessons at Happo-one, we offer a complimentary shuttle service before and after lessons provided you are staying within our pick-up area.
