First Tracks Powder Clinic in Hakuba

In this powder skills specific clinic we meet early in the morning, catch the first gondola and are rewarded with fresh tracks while the rest of the masses are just rising. With a professional instructor who knows the best powder stashes for the Hakuba Japan area, we will work on powder skiing techniques, tree skiing, and cover some safety concerns while skiing in powder.

Our powder clinic is ideal for those with little powder experience who want to go on a backcountry tour with us or just enjoy Hakuba's world-class powder. Once you ride the untouched soft pillowy powder runs you will know where the powder addiction comes from. A desire for fresh tracks and a minimum intermediate skill level are all that is needed to get that one of a kind feeling.

Levels offered: You should be at least intermediate level on hardpack before participating in our Powder Clinics

Location
All Powder Clinics begin and end at Evergreen Outdoor Center's Wadano Base inside the Wadanonomori Visitor's Center (opposite the Mominoki Hotel). Click here to see Wadano Base access details.

Includes
Qualified ski/snowboard instructor (English speaking), insurance, tax and (ideally) all the powder you can eat!

Bring
Lift pass (except beginner lessons), winter clothing, knit cap, gloves, goggles and smiles! You will also need to have your own ski/snowboard gear.

Evergreen does not offer rental service. For rental equipment, we recommend:

Our guides are native-level English-speaking professionals who are talented at conducting lessons that are safe, controlled, and emphasize proper techniques while having a great time. All instructors hold instructing as well as first-aid certificates. We also have French, German and Spanish speaking instructors available on request.
