SKIING GROUP PROGRAMS
Group Lessons are enjoyable and provide a wonderful opportunity to meet new people! Our teaching structure is divided into various levels. We will guide you to the ideal program for your individual needs and standard.
Full-Day programs are a great way to explore the whole mountain during your holiday. It is not uncommon for Group programs to enjoy lunch together at one of the many different restaurants throughout the Happo and even Hakuba area.
SNOWBOARDING GROUP PROGRAMS
Group snowboard lessons in Hakuba are enjoyable and provide a wonderful opportunity to meet new people! Snowboarding with a group is a ton of fun and your EISS instructor will have you ripping up the hill and having a blast.
We verbally grade guests initially on the meeting place and then may make a few finer alterations on the first run to aim for cohesive groups.

Both Happo-one and Iwatake have a wide range of terrain with slopes perfect for any levels – easy slopes to learn the basics, steeper slopes to practice carving, long thigh-burning olympic race runs, moguls, deep powder fields after a fresh dump and a well-maintained snow-park.
In group lessons you cannot request specific park/mogul etc. lessons, rather the instructor will work with the entire group on skills specific to your level. If you’d like specific training (racing, moguls, park, powder etc) please consider Private Lessons.
ARE THE INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
The short answer is yes – Evergreen requires all instructors to have at least a Level 1 certification from a relevant organisation such as CSIA, NZSIA, APSI or equivalent as well as current First Aid & CPR.
Our Level 1 & 2 instructors are involved in lower level Children’s & Group lessons, under the supervision of more experienced and certified (Level 3 & 4) instructors / trainers who not only take the high level Group & Private lessons but who run regular instructor development workshops throughout the season.
WILL I BE IN THE RIGHT LEVEL CLASS?
Don’t worry – we offer 6 levels, and verbally grade guests initially at the meeting place. We may also make a few finer alterations on the first run to ensure cohesive groups. Levels are assessed daily.
“Thanks to all of the snowboard instructors and all of the Evergreen staff that made my stay in Hakuba so special…I progressed from level 2 to 4…Thanks again guys!”
