KAYAKING IN JAPAN

FLAT-WATER KAYAKING IN NAGANO

Interested in kayaking in Japan? Nagano has numerous lakes and rivers, many of them ideal for Kayaking. We offer flat-water tours on Aokiko – Lake Aoki – a deep and clear lake fed by snow-melt, rain, and mineral springs from below. We also offer Downriver Tours which include flatwater training and a tour on the nearby Saigawa – Sai River – click here to learn about Downriver Tours.

KAYAKING ON LAKE AOKI

Lake Aoki near Hakuba is one of Japan’s purest lakes, fed by snow-melt, rain and natural spring-water bubbling from below. In the Spring Cherry Blossoms are abundant, in the Summer the lake is alive with greenery, birds and fish and is beautiful for swimming, and fireflies are plentiful in the evenings. In Autumn the color of the leaves is one of Japan’s treasures.

Paddle a single kayak around this beautiful lake…take it slow and enjoy the views or focus on more advanced paddling techniques to prepare for paddling on a downriver canoe tour in Nagano.
