CANOEING ON LAKE AOKI
Lake Aoki near Hakuba is one of Japan's purest lakes, fed by snow-melt, rain and natural spring-water bubbling from below. In the Spring, Cherry Blossoms are abundant. In the Summer, the lake is transformed into a green oasis, making it a popular destination for birds and fish, perfect for swimming, and home to countless fireflies in the evenings. Autumn brings a sea of orange and red foliage, a sight considered as one of Japan's treasures.
Paddle a 2 person (or 3 person if you have a child in the center) Canadian Canoe around this beautiful lake... take it slow and enjoy the views or focus on more advanced paddling techniques to prepare for guiding one of these dynamic canoes on a downriver canoe tour in Nagano.
